 Situated on the shores of Loch Harport, Talisker Distillery is heavily influenced by its location on the Isle of Skye — it embodies the spirit of the rocky, storm-lashed island and its strong, steadfast people. The distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, who leased the Talisker House from Clan MacLeod and eventually converted it into a distillery. When a new lease for the distillery was negotiated between the MacAskills and Clan MacLeod in the second half of the 19th century, the annual rent settled upon was £23.12 and a ten-gallon cask of the best Talisker Whisky available.


Talisker Single Malt Whisky is made from malted barley sourced from the Muir of Ord, a village in Highland, Scotland. The barley is lightly peated to approximately 18 phenol parts per million, which contributes a slightly smoky flavor profile to the whisky. Once the barley has been malted and peated, it is mashed using soft water drawn from one of the 14 underground springs that rise from Hawk Hill — Talisker has been using the same water source since it was founded nearly two centuries ago. “I'm restless at heart so you'll find me poking my nose into the mash tun at all hours,” says Mark Lochhead, the distillery’s manager. After the barley has been mashed, it is fermented in the distillery’s wooden washbacks before being twice distilled through Talisker’s copper-pot stills. The stills are equipped swan-shaped lye pipes and worm tubs, which gives Talisker whisky its signature, full-bodied flavor profile.

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?

Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

  • Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday.
  • Please allow up to 3 business days for processing.
  • Saver shipping (where available) takes 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, and delivery is typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.
  • Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the couriers.
  • We are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

The carrier will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

  • Additional delivery attempts require an extra delivery fee.
  • Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges.

4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?

Yes. Wine and delicate products are weather sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at LoveScotch’s discretion.

  • LoveScotch is not responsible for wine damage caused by ground couriers.

5. Can you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, or freight forwarders?

No. We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, Army Post Offices (APO), Fleet Post Offices (FPO), or freight forwarding companies.

6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?

Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.

  • If original packaging is required, please add a note to your order.
  • Additional shipping fees may apply for packaging requests.

7. What is your return policy?

Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.

  • If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, LoveScotch will refund or replace it. Please email hello@lovescotch.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.
  • All bottles are inspected before shipping.
  • Images on the website are illustrative only. Product editions, batches, or packaging may vary unless specifically stated in the product description.
  • Engraved bottles are non-refundable unless damaged. If returned after failed delivery attempts, the customer will not receive a refund and will incur a secondary return shipping fee.

1. What is your flat rate shipping policy?

We offer a $19.95 flat rate shipping for up to 3 bottles to the following states:

  • Arizona (AZ)
  • California (CA)
  • Colorado (CO)
  • Idaho (ID)
  • Nevada (NV)
  • New Mexico (NM)
  • Oregon (OR)
  • Washington (WA)

For all other states we ship to (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), the flat rate is $24.95.

2. Do you ship to all U.S. states?

No. Due to local laws and carrier restrictions, we are currently unable to ship alcohol to the following states:

  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Kansas
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • New Hampshire
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee
  • Utah

3. Are there exceptions to the flat rate shipping?

Yes. The flat rate option may not apply to certain ZIP codes within states we service. This is due to higher delivery rates set by shipping companies in specific areas.
