Nelson Bros. Cognac Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey begins with Nelson Brothers Classic Bourbon, a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys made for the Nelson family’s revived whiskey house in Nashville, Tennessee. The bourbon is transferred into select French oak Cognac casks hand-delivered from southwestern France for its final stage of aging. Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery bottles this cask-finished expression at 48.35% ABV (96.7 proof) in a 750 mL format. The distillery created the Nelson Brothers line in honor of founders Andy and Charlie Nelson after they revived the family business established by their triple-great-grandfather before Prohibition.
The producer describes a flavor profile built around caramel, vanilla, and cherry from the bourbon, with the Cognac cask finish adding hints of ripe fruit and toasted oak. Those notes give the expression a defined progression from familiar bourbon sweetness toward fruit and oak accents shaped by the French casks. Across the aroma and palate, caramel and vanilla provide the sweet foundation, cherry and ripe fruit bring brightness, and toasted oak supplies the final wood-driven counterpoint. 1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?
Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.
2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?
- Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday.
- Please allow up to 3 business days for processing.
- Flat rate shipping (where available) takes 1-3 days to receive local carrier tracking, and delivery is typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.
- Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the couriers.
- We are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date.
3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?
The carrier will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.
- Additional delivery attempts require an extra delivery fee.
- Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges.
4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?
Yes. Wine and delicate products are weather sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at LoveScotch’s discretion.
- LoveScotch is not responsible for wine damage caused by ground couriers.
5. Can you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, or freight forwarders?
No. We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, Army Post Offices (APO), Fleet Post Offices (FPO), or freight forwarding companies.
6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?
Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.
- If original packaging is required, please add a note to your order.
- Additional shipping fees may apply for packaging requests.
7. What is your return policy?
Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.
- If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, LoveScotch will refund or replace it. Please email hello@lovescotch.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.
- All bottles are inspected before shipping.
- Images on the website are illustrative only. Product editions, batches, or packaging may vary unless specifically stated in the product description.
- Engraved bottles are non-refundable unless damaged. If returned after failed delivery attempts, the customer will not receive a refund and will incur a secondary return shipping fee.
Flat Rate Shipping
Our flat-rate shipping option covers orders containing up to three standard 750ml bottles, with a total package weight of approximately 12 lbs. Please note that this rate may not apply to oversized or overweight items, larger bottle formats (such as 1L or 1.75L), or products requiring special packaging if the total shipping weight exceeds the 12-lb limit. In such cases, additional shipping charges may apply.

We offer a $24.95 flat rate shipping for up to 3 bottles to the following states:

For all other states we ship to (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), the flat rate is $29.95.

3. Are there exceptions to the flat rate shipping?
Yes. The flat rate option may not apply to certain ZIP codes within states we service. This is due to higher delivery rates set by shipping companies in specific areas.
