Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 2 Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($89.99): For this second release in the Cask Strength series, The Master Whisky Maker, selected mainly sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, along with just a few ex-bourbon casks. You’ll find aromas of summer rose, ripe pear and fresh coconut gathering on a wave of aromatic peat smoke, followed by a wild harmony of sweet and spicy flavours - poached pear and rich almond cake, a drizzle of cloudy honey and a twist of salty liquorice. There’s the suggestion of toasted oak and intriguing notes of orchard fruits, black pepper and sweet aniseed linger, in a satisfyingly long finish.
The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($79.99): Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old is 100% Sherry-seasoned and 100% natural color but unique in the unmistakable prominence of its American oak style. Macallan brings new oak from America across thousands of miles to Spain, where casks are crafted and Sherry-seasoned before traveling to the distillery in Speyside, where they are filled and matured for at least 12 years. These whiskies are then harmoniously united with those aged in exceptional Sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The delicate flavor of American oak — vanilla, citrus and light oak — rises in prominence as the traditional Macallan European oak character of dried fruit and wood spice affords a familiar backdrop,
The result is a fresh and approachable style of Macallan, rich in flavor, honeyed and indulgent, with a fantastic viscous mouth feel.
The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch Whisky ($69.99): The Balvenie 12 Year Old Double wood is one of their most popular creations. First launched in 1993 by the one and only David Stewart, this dram was quite the revolution back in the day, using the 'wood finishing' process Stewart designed in 1982 – double wood. So, what's it all about? First, the brown stuff spends at least 12 years in traditional ex-Bourbon barrels, then, it's moved to ex-Oloroso Sherry casks for another 9 months. Finally, individual casks are "married" in large tuns for 3-4 months. Bottled at 80 proof on site, this beauty is soft and delicate but full of depth and flavor at the same time.

Just opened the Balvenie tonight, smooth and less peaty, great neat. MacCallan is always stellar, but have not tried the Highland Park yet. Great buy, my first order from Lovescotch.
Three of a Perfect Pair
Absolutely wonderful! Started with the Highland Park, great flavors and full-bodied whiskey! Next the Balvenie, double cask mature and extremely smooth! Finished with the MaCallan - I am not a snob, this has me waxing poetic! All three are well worth the price of admission, bundling them is pure genius! Thank You!
