Product Description
Shipping & Return

From the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza’s Uco Valley comes the Catena Zapata 'Catena Alta' Chardonnay 2022, a refined white wine shaped by Argentina’s mountain terroir. Grown at elevations reaching nearly 5,000 feet in the Adrianna Vineyard, this Chardonnay benefits from cool Andean breezes, calcareous soils, and intense sunlight, resulting in grapes with exceptional purity and structure. Complemented by fruit from the gravel-rich Domingo Vineyard, this wine captures the unique minerality and energy of its origins.

Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, the wine undergoes fermentation in 500-liter French oak barrels using wild yeasts, with 30% of the batch skipping malolactic fermentation to preserve its natural vibrancy. Aged for 14 months on the lees in a mix of new and used oak, the result is a layered expression of ripe pear, white flowers, and citrus zest, framed by elegant oak, subtle spice, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The alcohol content rests at 13.7%, with crisp acidity that keeps the palate refreshed and poised.

Best served lightly chilled, this wine shines with grilled seafood, roasted poultry, or creamy cheeses. Whether sipped as a contemplative pour or poured for a sophisticated pairing, the Catena Alta Chardonnay offers a snapshot of high-altitude Mendoza winemaking at its finest—refined, expressive, and unmistakably rooted in place.

LoveScotch Shipping & Returns FAQ

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?

Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

  • Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday.
  • Please allow up to 3 business days for processing.
  • Saver shipping (where available) takes 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, and delivery is typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.
  • Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the couriers.
  • We are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

The carrier will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

  • Additional delivery attempts require an extra delivery fee.
  • Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges.

4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?

Yes. Wine and delicate products are weather sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at LoveScotch’s discretion.

  • LoveScotch is not responsible for wine damage caused by ground couriers.

5. Can you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, or freight forwarders?

No. We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, Army Post Offices (APO), Fleet Post Offices (FPO), or freight forwarding companies.

6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?

Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.

  • If original packaging is required, please add a note to your order.
  • Additional shipping fees may apply for packaging requests.

7. What is your return policy?

Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.

  • If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, LoveScotch will refund or replace it. Please email hello@lovescotch.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.
  • All bottles are inspected before shipping.
  • Images on the website are illustrative only. Product editions, batches, or packaging may vary unless specifically stated in the product description.
  • Engraved bottles are non-refundable unless damaged. If returned after failed delivery attempts, the customer will not receive a refund and will incur a secondary return shipping fee.
