Product Description
Shipping & Return

Revived under the Rare Character label, Brook Hill Joust 12 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey emerges from Kentucky with a commanding presence and rich legacy. Originally crafted by Joseph L. Friedman and renowned for its resilience during Prohibition, Brook Hill returns with this bold, limited release—bottled at an uncompromising 131.18 proof. This expression honors more than a century of whiskey-making heritage, blending time-honored techniques with Rare Character’s contemporary vision for cask-strength precision and flavor depth.

This 12-year-old straight rye opens with assertive notes of cracked black pepper, toasted oak, and baking spice, followed by layers of honeyed citrus, dark cherry, and a wisp of tobacco. The extended aging adds structure and sophistication, allowing the grain’s spice to mellow into a silky, lingering finish with a touch of caramel and leather. Made from a rye-heavy mashbill and aged in charred American oak barrels, it reflects the purity of its ingredients and the impact of patient maturation.

Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water, Brook Hill Joust is a whiskey meant for those who appreciate intensity and craftsmanship in equal measure. Whether you're exploring historic ryes or collecting rare releases, this bottling offers a rare glimpse into the past with a modern edge that speaks directly to the serious enthusiast.

LoveScotch Shipping & Returns FAQ

1. Do I need to be home to sign for my order?

Yes. Federal law requires an adult signature (21+ years old) for all alcohol deliveries. Couriers will check ID at the time of delivery. If no adult is available, the package may be returned. No exceptions can be made.

2. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

  • Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday.
  • Please allow up to 3 business days for processing.
  • Saver shipping (where available) takes 5–7 days to receive local carrier tracking, and delivery is typically 5–7 business days after tracking is assigned.
  • Ground shipping times are estimates only and not guaranteed by the couriers.
  • We are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date.

3. What happens if delivery is unsuccessful?

The carrier will attempt delivery three times before returning the order.

  • Additional delivery attempts require an extra delivery fee.
  • Orders returned due to incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or recipient refusal will be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges.

4. Can shipments be delayed due to weather?

Yes. Wine and delicate products are weather sensitive. To prevent heat or freeze damage, shipments may be delayed at LoveScotch’s discretion.

  • LoveScotch is not responsible for wine damage caused by ground couriers.

5. Can you ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, or freight forwarders?

No. We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, Army Post Offices (APO), Fleet Post Offices (FPO), or freight forwarding companies.

6. Do you ship bottles in original packaging?

Not always. Bottles are not guaranteed to arrive in original packaging unless specifically requested.

  • If original packaging is required, please add a note to your order.
  • Additional shipping fees may apply for packaging requests.

7. What is your return policy?

Due to state regulations, alcohol returns are only accepted if the product is spoiled.

  • If a bottle is significantly damaged during transit, LoveScotch will refund or replace it. Please email hello@lovescotch.com with photos of the damaged product and packaging.
  • All bottles are inspected before shipping.
  • Images on the website are illustrative only. Product editions, batches, or packaging may vary unless specifically stated in the product description.
  • Engraved bottles are non-refundable unless damaged. If returned after failed delivery attempts, the customer will not receive a refund and will incur a secondary return shipping fee.
