W & J Graham's
W. & J. Graham's, often referred to simply as Graham's, is a renowned Port wine producer based in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, the company has a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality Port wines.
The Graham brothers initially started their business in textiles and shipping before expanding into wine production by acquiring vineyards in the Douro Valley. Graham's vineyards are located in the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique terroir and ideal conditions for growing grapes used in Port wine production.
Graham's is known for its traditional methods of wine production, including foot-treading grapes in granite lagares. The winery produces a range of Ports, including vintage, tawny, and ruby Ports. In 1970, the Symington family, who have a long history in the Port wine trade, acquired Graham's. The Symington family continues to run the winery, maintaining its traditions and commitment to quality.
Graham's Ports have received numerous awards and accolades over the years, recognized for their rich flavors, complexity, and aging potential. Graham's also offers tours and tastings at their cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where visitors can learn about the history of the company, the winemaking process, and taste a selection of their Ports.
