Victoria Eady Butler
Victoria Eady Butler is a master blender and the great-great-granddaughter of Nearest Green, the formerly enslaved man credited with teaching Jack Daniel the craft of whiskey distillation. As the first African American master blender for a major whiskey brand, Butler plays a key role in preserving and advancing the legacy of her ancestor through her work with Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey.
Since joining Uncle Nearest in 2019, Butler has quickly made a name for herself in the whiskey world, winning numerous awards for her blends. She oversees the blending process for the brand’s premium whiskeys, ensuring that each release reflects both the quality and tradition established by Nearest Green over a century ago. Under her leadership, Uncle Nearest Whiskey has gained significant recognition for its craftsmanship, with Butler being instrumental in maintaining the brand's commitment to excellence.
Butler's influence extends beyond whiskey production; she is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the spirits industry. Through her work, she continues to honor her family’s legacy while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Uncle Nearest, one of the fastest-growing whiskey brands in the world.
