Vatted is a term traditionally used in the whisky industry to refer to the blending of single malt whiskies from different distilleries. A "vatted" whisky, also known as a "vatted malt" or "blended malt," is created by mixing these whiskies together, resulting in a final product that combines the characteristics of each contributing whisky. Unlike blended whiskies, which can include both malt and grain whiskies, vatted whiskies are made exclusively from malted barley and contain no grain whisky.

The process of vatting allows the master blender to balance and enhance different flavor profiles, drawing from the unique qualities of each whisky involved. The result is often a more complex and layered whisky that features a variety of flavors, such as smoky, fruity, or spicy notes, depending on the malts used.
