Tobermory Distillery
Tobermory Distillery, nestled in the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, holds a distinguished place in Scotch whisky history. Established in 1798, it stands as one of Scotland's oldest operational distilleries, despite experiencing periods of closure and revival over the years.
The distillery produces two distinct styles of whisky: Tobermory and Ledaig. Tobermory whisky is known for its lightly peated, fruity, and floral character, while Ledaig offers a heavily peated profile with bold, smoky notes influenced by the maritime environment.
Beyond its role in whisky production, Tobermory Distillery contributes significantly to the local economy and community, bolstering tourism and providing employment opportunities on the Isle of Mull.
