Mars is a prominent Japanese whisky brand produced by Hombo Shuzo Co. Ltd., which operates two distilleries: Mars Shinshu in Nagano Prefecture and Mars Tsunuki in Kagoshima Prefecture. Established in 1985, Mars Shinshu is Japan's highest distillery, situated in the Japanese Alps at an altitude of 798 meters. This high-altitude location provides ideal conditions for whisky production, including pure mountain water and a unique climate that influences the maturation process.
