Distillers of Angel's Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

How do you piss off an angel?

Lincoln Henderson did it by breaking a nearly two-hundred-year-old divine contract. He's always been one to sneer at traditions. So when he set out to create the most heavenly of all bourbons, Lincoln decided he might have to break some rules.
See, in bourbon circles, it's well accepted that each distillery owes a percentage of the bourbon in the barrels to the angels. This little agreement is known as the Angel's Share, and nobody has dared mess with it for two centuries.
But Lincoln, being a bit of a malcontent, figured maybe he could put a twist on this deal. Legend has it that he sat the angels down and got them to agree that they could take more of their share if they agreed to leave behind something even better.
The deal was sealed. But when the angels snuck a sip of Lincoln's incomparably smooth bourbon with exquisitely subtle "expressions" that came from joining 200 years of bourbon tradition with 400 years of port wine heritage, they felt they should have gotten a bigger share.

That's why Lincoln thought it appropriate to call his bourbon Angel's Envy. The angels, however, don't find it funny.

Who We Are

Lincoln Henderson
Master Distiller

Spirits are Lincoln Henderson’s life work. Since 2005, he’s served as the Master Distiller for Louisville Distilling Company, which has given him the opportunity to produce Angel’s Envy — his masterpiece. He is responsible for handcrafting every step of his bourbon. From developing the yeast cultures and personally tasting every stage to selecting the port wine casks used for the final aging process, Angel’s Envy is the distillation of his life’s work.

Before he founded Louisville Distilling Company with Wes Henderson, Lincoln spent almost forty years as Master Distiller and Research Fellow for the Brown-Forman Corporation. During his tenure, he planned, developed and produced nearly every type of distilled spirit, thoroughly proving his mastery of spirits. Chances are, you’ve tasted his work. He’s been a key speaker at seminars throughout most of Europe, Japan, and North America. As a young man, he received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Louisville.

Samira Seiller
EVP, Managing Director

For over 15 years, Samira Seiller has excelled in the liquor industry. She is now the Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Angel’s Envy and the Louisville Distilling Company. She’s responsible for marketing, PR development, and strategic and local market executional plans for Angel’s Envy.

She earned her title of “Whiskey Chick” through a personal passion for whiskey (and spirits in general). Before Angel’s Envy, she served as Senior VP for Altamar Brands, where she was directly accountable for brand development strategy. Prior to that, she worked as Senior Marketing Director for Beam Global North America, Regional Marketing Director at Brown-Forman, and Brand Manager at Schefflin and Somerset.

Angel’s Envy is a uniquely delicious bourbon and totally independent from the major companies so it needs Sam’s uniquely strong voice to help spread the word. From the one-of-a-kind port wine barrel aging process to the unique bottle design, Sam has worked in the industry long enough to recognize a superior product. With her experience and excellent track record, she will help bring Angel’s Envy to the aficionados who will appreciate it.

Wesley Henderson
COO

As a small distillery in a field of giants, Louisville Distilling Company requires excellent management in order to stay agile and competitive. As Chief Operating Officer, Wes Henderson provides the steady hand that the company needs. Under his management, Angel’s Envy is expanding quickly and sustainably.

Before he co-founded Louisville Distilling Company with Lincoln, Wes served as CEO for Master Distiller Select LLC, where he was additionally responsible for distilled spirits consulting services. Before that, he was the President and CEO of Conecuh Ridge Distillery — a brand that enjoyed favorable mainstream recognition. He received his education from the College of Aeronautics at the Florida Institute of Technology.

Angel’s Envy is a small-batch, artisan bourbon. When a batch is gone, it’s gone forever. And while the operation is expanding, it’s growing slowly to ensure that quality never slips. All of this requires careful planning and management to always ensure that there’s enough product to meet market demands, and the markets have been thirsty.

Marc Bushala
CEO

Angel’s Envy is thriving under the experienced guidance of CEO Marc Bushala. While Louisville Distilling Company may be small, that’s simply no excuse to have anything but the best management. Marc is the man who brings it all together so Lincoln can continue delivering the finest bourbon you’ve ever tasted.

Angel’s Envy is lucky to share his expertise with several other companies. Currently, he serves as Managing Partner for MAB Capital Management LLC and Mother Hubbard Properties LLC and Great Street LLC. He’s on the Board of Directors for Banshee Music and is the Founder and CEO of SantaFe Partners – Blue Cactus Restaurant. Before this, he was President of The Radiate Group, and was previously the President and CEO of Atomic Entertainment LLC. Prior to that, he was a Managing Partner for Ground Zero Warsaw Sp. z o. o. and a Partner at Atomic TV. He studied marketing at Miami University.

It takes a lot of vision and hard work to bring the refined taste Angel’s Envy from the hills of Kentucky out into the world. No member of the Louisville Distilling Company is any less dedicated or valuable than any other, but at the end of the day, someone has to be in charge. Marc is the man Angel’s Envy needs to inspire and guide the company from Louisville to all points beyond.
