Churchill’s is a distinguished producer of Port and Douro wines based in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Founded in 1981 by Johnny Graham, Churchill’s was the first new British port house to be established in over 50 years, bringing a fresh, contemporary approach to the centuries-old port tradition. Despite being a relatively young company in the context of the historic port industry, Churchill’s quickly earned a reputation for crafting high-quality, elegant wines with a focus on purity, structure, and the expression of the unique terroir of the Douro Valley.
Churchill’s is known for its range of ports, including Vintage Port, Late Bottled Vintage (LBV), and Tawny Ports, all of which are made with grapes from the company’s own vineyards. Their Vintage Port is celebrated for its depth, complexity, and aging potential, often featuring rich flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and spice, supported by firm tannins. The LBV and Tawny Ports are similarly refined, offering smooth, approachable profiles with notes of dried fruit, nuts, and caramel.
