Bernheim
Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey is a unique offering in the American whiskey landscape, being one of the first straight wheat whiskeys produced in the United States. Distilled by Heaven Hill Distillery, Bernheim is named after the historic Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. It was introduced in 2005 and quickly gained acclaim for its innovative use of wheat as the primary grain in its mash bill, which consists of 51% wheat, 39% corn, and 10% malted barley.
Bernheim Wheat Whiskey stands out due to its distinctively smooth and mellow flavor profile, which is different from the more common corn or rye-based whiskeys. The high wheat content imparts a soft, sweet taste with notes of vanilla, honey, and caramel, complemented by subtle hints of spice and fruit. Aged for seven years, this whiskey develops a balanced and complex character, making it a versatile spirit that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in various cocktails. Bernheim's unique composition and high quality have earned it numerous awards and a dedicated following among whiskey enthusiasts.
