Benedictine
Bénédictine is a famous French herbal liqueur with origins dating back to 1510, created by a Benedictine monk named Dom Bernardo Vincelli at the Abbey of Fécamp in Normandy. The modern version, developed in the 19th century by Alexandre Le Grand, combines 27 herbs and spices with a brandy base. The exact recipe is a secret.
Aged and bottled at 40% alcohol by volume, Bénédictine offers complex flavors of honey, citrus, and herbs. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails like the B&B (Bénédictine and Brandy) and the Singapore Sling. Its unique taste and rich history make it a favorite among liqueur enthusiasts.
