Balblair

Balblair Distillery has been around since 1790 and was moved in 1895 to be closer to the railway line at Edderton by the owner. However the railway line has been closed since 1960. The new distillery was designed by Charles C Doig. Balblair were so happy with the water source at the old location they had it piped to the new site. The water source is the Ault Dearg Burn and is about four miles from the distillery. Balblair has three stills yet only two work. The smallest of the three stills hasn’t worked since the 60’s. Pacific Spirits are the current owners and the distillery produces 1,350,000 litres per year. House Style: Light, firm, dry.
