Aultmore
Aultmore Distillery is found in Keith, Banffshire. It was founded in 1895 by the then current owner of the Benrinnes distillery, Alexander Edward. The distillery was originally powered by a waterwheel but was replaced with a steam engine that ran for 70 years and was only stopped for maintenance. When it was off for maintenance they would revert back to using the waterwheel. Aultmore produces one official bottling which is a 12 year old single malt, the rest of the whisky goes into Dewar’s blends.
The distillery is currently owned by Bacardi and John Dewar & Sons. It has two wash stills and two spirit stills that produce around 2,900,000 litres a year. House Style: Fresh, dry, herbal, spicy, oaky. Best before dinner.
