Aberlour

12 items in this collection.
Aberlour is found in the heart of the Speyside valley. It was founded in 1879 but distillation at the site goes buck until 1826. A distillery of the same name sat on the site before but was destroyed by a fire in 1879. Aberlour in Gaelic means ‘The mouth of the babbling brook”. The distillery receives its water from sources on Ben Rinnes Mountain. The distillery was one of the first distilleries to concentrate on smaller quality tours rather than large tours for the masses and provides a really great tour. It is currently owned by Pernod Ricard , has two Wash, two Spirit Stills and produces 3,500,000 litres a year. House Style: Soft texture, medium to full flavors, nutty, spicy, sherry-accented. With dessert, or after dinner, depending upon maturity. House Style: Soft texture, medium to full flavours, nutty, spicy (nutmeg), sherry-accented. With dessert, or after dinner.
