Built: 1965. Current Owner: Invergordon Distillers. Bottlings from this distillery are among the most sought after of all the whisky distilleries of Scotland. The reason is that the distillery, which only distilled between 1965 and 1977, has very seldom been bottled as a single malt. A Signatory bottling of a 31 year old in Febuary 2000, was the first we have ever seen. An official bottling from Invergordon distillers was released in November of the same year. Other than these casks, we do not know of any others in existence (unless you can tell us otherwise?). Another distillery named Ben Wyvis (also known as Ferintosh) operated in Dingwall until 1926. If anyone has had the good fortune to try any Ben Wyvis, we would love to read your comments. Interestingly, the stills from Ben Wyvis have been taken and installed at Springbank's Glengyle distillery (following some adjustments to the shape). Buy up bottles now, and hold a comparitive tasting in 2014!
